Garden Club is an extracurricular club open to City Honors students of all grade levels.
** We could use another adult (or teenager) to help facilitate activities with this super enthusiastic club. Let us know if you are interested in helping out!
During the academic year, meetings are held in the garden from 2:45-3:45pm. 5th graders will meet on their own day–Thursdays (because the group is larger).
6th-12th graders will meet Wednesdays.
Students must arrange their own pick-up. Meetings are held regularly during the warmer months (weather permitting). During the colder months, periodic indoor Garden Club meetings are scheduled as projects arise.
Club members engage the garden at a deeper level than they might in class. They select the types of foods we will grow each season, advocate for school gardens, prepare for events, harvest and sample/cook edibles, make seasonal art, and examine plants or insects.
Students interested in joining Garden Club should make sure they have a parent’s or guardian’s permission and should come to the next club meeting. For other questions, contact Caesandra Seawell, Garden Manager, [email protected].
